COMMUNION

Communion is a union between different universes. I am a unique universe. You are a unique universe. Each being is an entirely unique universe.

Communion is con-sensual. We sense-with. We be, do, and become in togetherness. To commune is to nourish the space between you and another’s universe with your love. To commune is to celebrate and elevate another’s uniqueness without surrendering your own. It’s a high-fidelity meeting between two souls.

I consider the practice of communion to be a sacred responsibility, a way of meeting the world that shapes us as lovers and creators. As Nora Bateson says, “There will be no community without first communing.” The practice de-armors intimacy with the One Life that made you. It’s a oneness-with that awakens sacred responsibility, moral imagination, and bionoetic wisdom. In communion, you become a creator, preserver, destroyer being whose erotic connection with the world helps you to harmonize with the complex symphonics of Gaia.

The Rememberings are the basic teachings of EnLifenment from Chapter 6 of True Human: Reimagining Ourselves at the End of Our World. These are ontological teachings—gateways to seeing, knowing, and experiencing ourselves as co-creative participants in Life's Song.

This is a Life-Centric Sangha (a community of sacred practice) where we practice EnLifenment together.
