We’re continuing to explore The Rememberings—the basic teachings of EnLifenment from Chapter 6 of True Human: Reimagining Ourselves at the End of Our World. These are ontological teachings—gateways to seeing, knowing, and experiencing ourselves as co-creative participants in Life's Song.

This call will focus on the third remembering:

HERENESS.

We are here. We are not tourists on this planet, though powerful currents in the last few thousand years of culture have taught us to behave as though we are. In actuality, our bodies are places nested within places entangled with places. Every scrap of food you eat, every sip of water you drink, every electron of energy used to power your computer or blend your smoothie comes from somewhere.

Life is a place based phenomenon.

What happens when you truly LOCATE yourself on this earth, in your place, in your field of relations relative to your participation in Life's Fabric.

In this call, we'll explore:

• the history of rupture with place

• how modernity trained us to see ourselves as non-local, non-place bound beings

• why we are now called to return to the ancient pattern of bioregioning as the ground of resilience, and

• what kinds of intimacy, meaning and ethical sense-making become possible when we re-situate and re-orient ourselves in relationship to the ecofields, watersheds, soil sheds, and culture sheds we occupy and interact with by virtue of our participation in an entangle global supply chain and biospheric system

• Foundational practice for place-making

When we re-root into meaningful place based relationships over time we regain an ancient, instinctive and genuinely evolutionary foundation for wisdom, resilience and reciprocal vitality.

Let's gather not with the intention to get anywhere, but with a gentle-fierce commitment to learn, explore authentic connection, engage in good-faith inquiry, and tend the wild entanglement of our humanity.

These monthly groups are beginning to become a Life-Centric Sangha (or practice community). If you've come before, expect this one to be new teachings within a growing fellowship of true humans.
